Top SchoolSeng Liew is a research scientist with 11 years of experience blending theoretical physics, machine learning, and security/privacy research, currently based in the Greater Tokyo Area. He holds a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Tokyo and has published and contributed to top-tier venues (ICLR, SIGMOD, VLDB, Interspeech, IJCB), with recent work linked to ICML and AISTATS/PODS submissions. Seng has applied differential privacy and federated learning to real products at LINE and developed adversarial and robust biometric systems at NEC, demonstrating a rare combination of rigorous theory and production-minded implementation in Python. His international collaborations span Europe, East Asia, and the US, reflecting an ability to lead and integrate across diverse research teams. Notably, his background in Bayesian methods for particle physics informs a probabilistic, principled approach to ML problems that often yields novel, statistically grounded solutions.
