Summary
👤
SeniorSergei Iastrebov is a senior staff-level software engineer with 15+ years of experience building high-scale frontend and platform systems used by millions at Meta, Yandex, VK, and other companies. He excels at multi-team, cross-org initiatives—having led quality and automation programs that grew owned test coverage from hundreds to 100k+ cases and onboarded 30 teams across five orgs. A pragmatic advocate for AI-assisted development, he drove adoption from ~40% to ~80% usage and helped scale tools to 400+ engineers across EMEA, applying AI to large-scale code optimization and high-volume reviews. His work spans performance-critical web systems (sub-60ms load targets), reusable UI tooling, and multimedia platform integrations that materially increased user and creator engagement. Known as a hands-on technical reviewer and mentor, he combines deep execution with the ability to align teams without formal authority. Outside product delivery, he contributes to the engineering community through mentorship, conference talks, and learning materials, and holds a UK Global Talent visa.
