Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolSerguei Poliakov is a seasoned software leader and team lead based in London with nearly three decades of engineering experience and nine years in senior roles focused on architecture, concurrency, and secure Internet-scale services. He has led and built high-throughput web proxy and malware-scanning systems at Cisco and Mimecast, combining deep Core Java, C++ and non-blocking IO expertise with hands-on DevOps and TLS man-in-the-middle solutions. At Global Relay he now leads teams delivering resilient, security-conscious infrastructure, drawing on a rare mix of low-level systems knowledge (Fortran, assembler roots) and modern cloud practices. Serguei is particularly adept at translating complex security and performance requirements into pragmatic, maintainable architectures and has repeatedly driven platform modernisations that revitalised product lines. Quietly pragmatic and technically versatile, he pairs long-term systems thinking with the willingness to dive into implementation details when critical issues demand it.
