Top SchoolShaun Martin is a Staff Software Engineer and Engineering Manager in Winnipeg with 12 years of experience helping teams adopt Agile and DevOps practices while building reliable cloud-native infrastructure. He has progressed from hands-on DevOps and systems roles to leading teams at Newton.co and TELUS, where he drove product-focused operational support, CI/CD adoption, and cross-discipline mentoring. Skilled with AWS, GitLab CI/GitHub Actions, configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible), and Python tooling, he focuses on simplification, automation, and self-service platforms that reduce operational friction. Shaun’s background spans startups to large telco environments, giving him a knack for translating complex network and infrastructure needs into pragmatic engineering solutions. He also runs samsite.ca and maintains a GitHub presence, reflecting a longstanding commitment to tooling and operational craft beyond day-to-day management. Quietly pragmatic, he balances big-picture product thinking with the muscle memory of building and shipping the systems that run them.
