Senior🎓
Top SchoolShawn Jain is a researcher-engineer and investor focused on frontier AI, cognition, and sensing, with 12 years of experience turning lab-grade research into product-ready technology. He has built and shipped systems across computer vision, robotics, and language models—launching Advanced Data Analysis (Code Interpreter) at OpenAI and inventing lidar intensity calibration methods at Uber (US Patent 10,598,791 B2). A founder of a generative AI startup for multivariate, multimodal time-series and now a General Partner at Zero Shot Fund and Venture Partner at Lightscape, he advises early-stage teams on moonshot technical risk and productization. His background blends rigorous MIT training with hands-on implementations from neural nets to perception stacks, and he regularly authors original IP rather than just applying off-the-shelf models. Based in San Francisco, Shawn is equally comfortable in deep research questions about open-endedness as he is in getting production features deployed and scaled.
