Senior🎓
Top SchoolSiaw Lau is a versatile software engineer with 12 years of experience building production-grade web platforms and tooling across startups and high-growth companies in Singapore and San Francisco. He’s shipped end-to-end systems from monolith-to-microservice migrations at Carousell to leading Forge’s Liquidity platform and later architecting loan origination tooling and a custom rules engine at LXA. As a founder at Unsearch he explored integrating LLMs and ML to make enterprise search in Slack genuinely useful, showing a blend of product intuition and applied ML experimentation. Comfortable across full-stack, backend rules engines, and developer-facing tools, he favors pragmatic, auditable solutions that mirror real-world regulatory needs. He writes at siawyoung.com and brings a tinkerer’s curiosity—often reverse-engineering complex flows to make them reliably automatable. Now based in San Francisco, he continues to combine startup grit with rigorous engineering discipline.
