Top SchoolSidney Li is a product engineer with over a decade of hands-on experience designing and implementing automated test-and-measurement systems and manufacturing execution databases for optical and photonic products. He has driven imaging metrology and fiber-laser characterization efforts across Northrop Grumman, Coherent, Agfa, and JDS Uniphase, blending optics expertise with pragmatic software and database engineering (PostgreSQL, Linux, Python, C/C++, LabView). Known for building production-ready test automation and MES solutions from open-source stacks, he also implements real-time control systems (Linux/Xenomai) and advanced image processing for wavefront sensing and holography. Sidney’s background combines deep experimental photonics knowledge with production-scale software design, and he often translates complex optical measurements into robust, maintainable automation and analysis workflows.
