Senior🎓
Top SchoolSimen Håpnes is a Lead Data & AI Engineer with eight years of hands-on experience building production-ready ML systems, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure across Azure and GCP. He leads a growing team at Nimtech, championing clean code, thorough testing, automated release cycles, and infrastructure-as-code to avoid technical debt while operationalizing ML lifecycles from feature engineering to monitoring. His background blends deep Python and C/C++ experience with a recent focus on Rust, and he’s delivered MLOps and time-series solutions for clients like Equinor using Azure ML, Synapse, and CI/CD with GitHub Actions. A physicist by training, he pairs analytical rigor with pragmatic engineering—evident in near-full test coverage, strict git hygiene, and an emphasis on maintainable, observable systems. Simen is as comfortable mentoring teams and pairing on code as he is writing scalable ETL on BigQuery and Spark, and he’s keen to connect over technical challenges (or a cup of coffee).
