Top SchoolSimon Drake is a Principal Software Engineer with 10 years of hands-on experience building cloud-native systems and migrating monoliths to microservices. Currently at Splunk, he specializes in Go, Node.js, Kubernetes, Docker and multi-cloud deployments (AWS/GCP), and has a track record of introducing TDD, CI/CD and container practices that improve reliability and developer velocity. He’s comfortable across the full stack—from React frontends to SQL and NoSQL datastores—and has practical experience in observability (ELK) and crypto-related projects. A self-taught engineer who rose from service management into senior engineering roles, he combines strong customer-facing communication with deep implementation skills. Notably, he often learns new platforms on the job and codified those learnings into reusable utilities and boilerplates to accelerate team adoption.
