Top SchoolSimon Jackson is a seasoned technologist and hands-on director with 13 years of commercial experience and roots in programming dating back to a ZX81 in 1984. He leads K Ring Technologies Ltd, blending FPGA/VHDL microprocessor design, embedded C, and full-stack web development to deliver compact, power-efficient solutions and experimental data compression algorithms. Comfortable across Java, Python, LAMP, and DevOps, he also develops audio plugins for VCVRack and maintains open-source work focused on silicon-area efficiency. An environmental advocate, he aims to apply ultra-low-power FPGA modules to practical products and has self-published technical books exploring AI and analytics. Notably, his hobbyist projects—like a BSD-licensed microprocessor and the Rubik compression codec—demonstrate a long-standing commitment to optimization and pragmatic engineering.
