Summary
🤩
RockstarSimon Maple is a seasoned developer relations leader and Java community builder with over a decade of experience bridging engineering, product, sales and marketing to grow developer adoption. As Founding Developer Relations at Tessl and founder of VirtualJUG, he combines strategic program leadership with hands-on advocacy—speaking at major conferences worldwide and producing popular, approachable technical videos. He has scaled developer programs at Snyk and ZeroTurnaround, running global evangelism, budgeting, and content initiatives while feeding customer and field insights back to engineering. A Java Champion and former London JUG leader, Simon has a knack for making deep JVM topics accessible and occasionally playful to widen technology outreach. Less obvious: he created the world’s first online-only Java User Group to give developers without local communities access to top speakers and content. He holds a First Class Honours in Computer Science from the University of Reading and excels at turning community momentum into measurable product impact.
