Skylar Wyant is a computational research assistant with 10 years of experience applying engineering rigor to bioinformatics, genetics, and NGS sequencing pipelines. Based in the Twin Cities, Skylar built and maintains sequencing workflows used in multiple published research projects, learning programming and genomics independently to bridge wet-lab and computational needs. With a chemical engineering background and hands-on process optimization experience from Cargill pilot plants, Skylar combines experimental insight with reproducible data analysis. As an evolutionary genetics graduate student in the Gaut Lab and former Morrell Lab bioinformatician, they bring domain fluency in population genetics and practical pipeline engineering. Colleagues rely on Skylar for turning complex sequencing data into robust, publishable results and for rapidly adapting tools to new experimental designs.
