Stefan Koopmanschap
Netherlands
Summary
👤
SeniorStefan Koopmanschap is a seasoned PHP-focused software engineer and co-owner of Ingewikkeld with over 25 years working on web applications, certified as both a Zend and Symfony engineer. He blends hands-on development, architecture coaching and legacy-to-modern migrations across clients from public broadcasters to enterprise SaaS, and currently works with TrueFullstaq and Cito while coordinating projects at Concertzender. Stefan frequently acts as technical lead and mentor—introducing DDD/hexagonal patterns, writing ADRs and running workshops—and has a track record of modernizing monoliths into service-oriented architectures. He also teaches programming to young learners at a democratic school and brings an uncommon mix of community-facing roles, from DJ/podcaster to mental-health-first-aid trained colleague. Pragmatic and communicative, he excels at turning messy legacy codebases into maintainable, well-documented systems while cultivating developer skill and team ownership.
