Top SchoolStefano Cherubin is a compiler-focused technology leader and entrepreneur with 12 years of experience, currently CEO and co‑founder of DITTA and an Associate Professor at NTNU. He specializes in reduced‑precision computation and LLVM compiler infrastructure, blending deep research (PhD from Politecnico di Milano) with practical R&D and industry work at Codeplay. Stefano has taught and developed advanced courses on approximate computing, mentored graduate students, and shipped compiler tooling tied to energy‑efficient computation—aiming to make “compilers boring” by eliminating surprises in numerical behavior. His background includes multiple research visits to Inria and Porto, a track record of academic and industry collaboration, and a knack for turning complex numeric optimizations into usable systems for both academia and product teams.
