Summary
Stephen Mcentee is a chartered mechanical and subsea engineer with over 20 years’ hands-on experience designing and delivering subsea pipelines, risers and offshore construction projects across consultancies, contractors and operators. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering (finite element analysis of composites) from NUI Galway and has blended deep technical competence with project leadership roles—acting as company representative during offshore interventions and coordinating pipeline designs on major developments like Skarv. In 2016 he founded Qwilka to develop data software and provide consultancy, and most recently worked on energy-transition pipeline projects with Ramboll in Copenhagen (2022–2025). Now running Qwilka again and open to contract work, he combines academic rigour, practical offshore experience and a knack for turning complex subsea problems into pragmatic engineering and software solutions.
