Software Engineer at Fujitsu Launchpad
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Summary
👤
SeniorStephen Simpson is a lead web engineer based in Sydney with 13 years of production experience and a 17-year background in TypeScript, React, Svelte, Node.js and Rails. He blends design-led product thinking with hands-on technical leadership—having led teams, vendor assessments and cross-platform feature deliveries at scale for banking and e-commerce products. He specializes in developer experience, accessibility, performance and practical architecture (Hexagonal and DDD), and has built back-office tooling and modular front-end systems that eased delivery for mobile and backend teams. Comfortable from early-stage user research and prototyping through to production engineering, he has repeatedly shipped high-performance storefronts and banking features while mentoring engineers and shaping web engineering guilds. An atypical strength is his design-first lens applied to developer workflows, making user and engineering ergonomics part of the architecture.
