Summary
🤩
RockstarSteve Rydz is a seasoned web engineer with 13 years of professional experience and a 15-year background in web development, now focused at Canonical where he owns and evolves the Snap Store and Dedicated Snap Store offerings. He combines front-end and back-end expertise—having migrated major apps from AngularJS to React/Redux and contributed backend fixes to high-profile projects like the ubuntu.com codebase—to deliver cohesive, user-facing store and developer publishing tooling. Steve has led cross-functional projects that unify disparate product pages into consistent applications and built internal marketplaces and publishing tools used by app developers and customers. His career spans agency client work, media-industry tooling, e-commerce re-platforming, and open source contributions, showing a pragmatic balance of design-driven implementation and scalable architecture. Based in Nottingham, he’s comfortable moving between marketing-facing websites and complex provisioning and marketplace systems, and he often surfaces subtle UX and design fixes alongside legal/service content updates.
