Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolSteven Joseph is a founder and seasoned software architect with 15 years' experience building scalable, enterprise-grade systems and developer tools. He founded DamageBDD to bring behaviour-driven development to "planetary scale" after seven years as CTO at Contextual, and previously shipped real-time messaging, trading and healthcare systems in senior engineering roles. Technically hands-on from Python web apps and DevOps to distributed FIX gateways, he combines deep implementation experience with product-level architecture (inventor of ECAI, architect of ERM). Based in Sydney, he pairs startup grit with enterprise discipline, repeatedly turning research-driven ideas—like his MSc work on genetic programming for trading—into production software. He favors pragmatic, auditable solutions and has a track record of moving complex integrations from prototype to continuous delivery. Colleagues would note his blend of systems thinking and insistence on developer-friendly workflows as a differentiator.
