Summary
🎓
Top SchoolSytze Zeijlmaker is a Senior Software Engineer with six years of experience building scalable, maintainable systems and leading engineering efforts across education and payments platforms. He has a track record of delivering high-impact product changes—most notably redesigning Sumdog’s Fluency Booster to personalise learning at scale, cutting average questions per skill from 132 to 53 while handling ~1.5M daily events and querying multi-billion-row datasets. Comfortable across backend, frontend and operational concerns, he has optimised slow endpoints, reduced app CPU usage through batching and caching, and simplified front-end complexity by unifying navigation between Vue and AngularJS. As Head of Digital Development at the University of Bath he improved publishing performance and automated redirects to protect SEO, and he’s now bringing that blend of hands-on engineering and delivery leadership to B4B Payments. Trained in classical composition, he brings a creative, systems-oriented mindset to complex technical problems and product design.
