Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolTeng-pao Yu is an Android-focused engineering manager with 11 years of experience building and leading mobile teams across SmartNews, Mozilla, and Synology, currently managing two squads and seven direct reports. He combines deep expertise in Android utilities, multi-threading, Gradle configuration, and background performance optimizations with hands-on product oversight—most recently owning third-party ads integration and cold-start benchmarking at SmartNews. At Mozilla he led lightweight, mobile-first browser projects (Firefox Lite/Rocket), shipping sub-3MB APKs, dynamic content protocols that avoid app updates, and practical CI/CD improvements. He cares about engineering craft—testing, CI/CD, code maintainability—and deliberately uses task assignment and process changes to grow engineers beyond technical skills. Based in New Taipei, he’s open to roles that deepen his Android architecture and API mastery and prefers opportunities meeting his senior compensation thresholds.
