Top SchoolThea Bolton is a versatile technologist-turned-therapist with 14 years of software engineering and systems experience and a current focus on pluralistic therapy at the University of Aberdeen. Her career spans roles from manufacturing test engineering at Microsoft to building web and blockchain gateways, open-source audio synthesis plugins, and end-to-end business systems—evidence of strong full-stack and systems thinking. A lifelong musician and former professional music teacher, she brings creative pedagogy and small-business operations experience to collaborative projects. Known for pragmatic tooling (Perl, Python, Django, SQL) and security-conscious development in regulated contexts, she pairs technical rigor with empathetic client work. An interesting through-line: she has continuously blended music and code, shipping expressive synthesis tools used by professional musicians while running an in-demand teaching and performance practice.
