Top SchoolThomas Breimer is a PhD student in Visual Analytics Systems at Brandeis and a teaching assistant who mentors 70 students in introductory Python while building automated grading tools and leading hands-on recitations. With a decade of experience spanning academic research and applied computer science, he has tackled real-time object tracking by combining Topological Data Analysis with deep learning (work published at SPIE DCS 2025) and developed evolutionary-algorithm-driven 3D mesh generation for soft-robot design. Comfortable moving between research and production, he crafts user-facing Python applications that translate complex analytics into actionable insights. Based in New York and grounded in a CS degree from Union College, he brings a rare mix of pedagogy, reproducible research, and systems-building to visual analytics problems.
