Top SchoolThomas Gurriet is a Principal Applied Scientist with eight years of hands-on experience building safe, trustworthy robotics and cyber-physical systems, currently leading efforts in robotics AI at Amazon Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics. He brings a rare blend of deep academic training—a Caltech PhD in applied safety-critical control—and practical product leadership from roles as CTO of a robotics startup and engineering positions at Yamaha and Wandercraft. His work spans model-based control, dynamic stabilization for exoskeletons, open-water navigation, and geo-fencing for UAVs, showing strength across perception-to-control stacks. Based in Pasadena, he pairs research-grade rigor with production-focused delivery, routinely translating safety-critical theory into deployable systems. Colleagues describe him as someone who deliberately bridges long-horizon academic insight with the pragmatic constraints of large-scale robotics deployments.
