Top SchoolThomas Stoecklein is a freelance full-stack software developer based in Pittsburgh with 14 years of experience building adaptable web applications and systems, primarily in Ruby/Rails and Node.js. He partners with businesses to deliver pragmatic, test-driven solutions that evolve with changing goals, and has hands-on experience across backend, frontend, streaming video, and infrastructure. His background includes growing and operationalizing products—from subscription and billing systems to scalable live-stream services—and delivering measurable customer improvements like increased repeat purchases and reduced complaints. Comfortable in agile teams and ops, he also brings practical exposure to C++, Lua, nginx/Varnish, and CRM integrations. Outside work he applies a photographer’s eye and an athlete’s discipline—running, mountain biking, and skiing—which informs a detail-oriented, iterative approach to product craftsmanship.
