Tim Reutemann is a climate finance and technology leader with 12 years’ experience designing and operationalizing carbon market instruments under the Paris Agreement. As COO of ClimateGains he’s pioneering video-based verification and reputation systems to lower barriers for last-mile emissions mitigation and adaptation projects and to improve regulatory risk management. Previously he led Switzerland’s technical work on Article 6.2 negotiations at FOEN and has run capacity-building programs for multilateral climate funds with UNEP DTU. His PhD in environmental economics from ETH Zurich combined field experiments, behavioral economics and payment design for avoided deforestation, including a tablet-based experiment with ~400 cattle ranchers in Brazil. He has managed multi-million euro offset portfolios and developed the world’s first integrated Fair Trade carbon-offset project for a major retailer, blending rigorous accounting with practical implementation. Tim uniquely bridges deep technical policy expertise, field-proven experimental methods and product-focused climate fintech innovation.
