Top SchoolTrish Rempel is a senior developer at Shopify with over 25 years in software and more than a decade of professional engineering experience, combining hands-on coding with team leadership and product ownership. She has led international growth engineering efforts and managed cross-product teams to scale commerce features for over a million merchants across 175+ countries. Technically versatile, Trish has shipped front-end and back-end systems using JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Java, and cloud services, and has steered architectural and process improvements (from multi-version service design to queue migrations). An active contributor to Shopify’s open-source Quilt work—where she improved locale-aware currency and number parsing—she brings a deep practical focus on internationalization that’s informed by real merchant needs. Based in Manitoba, Canada, she pairs pragmatic engineering with strong mentorship and a knack for turning messy legacy systems into maintainable, well-tested solutions.
