Tristan Smith
Seattle, Washington, United States
Summary
👤
SeniorTristan Smith is a hands-on software architect and owner/lead consultant in Seattle with over 15 years building microservices, distributed systems, and data platforms across martech, fintech, and IoT. He blends technical leadership with active coding—preferring to stay in the trenches to drive design quality and technical change within teams and startups. Tristan has led systems that power large-scale retail audio platforms (including Apple Music for Business), architected voter intelligence and ELT solutions, and built secure data platforms on Databricks and AWS. He excels at pragmatic Domain-Driven Design, serverless and streaming architectures, and operationalizing DevOps with tools like ArgoCD, Delta Live Tables, and Kinesis. Comfortable both leading teams and filling interim technical roles, he’s known for turning ambiguous startup needs into robust, production-ready systems. Tristan’s uncommon leadership style—hands-on at scale—consistently raises technical bar and accelerates delivery.
