Top SchoolTuomo Tanskanen is a Principal Security Developer at Ericsson Software Technology with 12+ years of experience securing telecom and cloud-native systems. He leads security for Metal3.io, a CNCF incubating project, and ranks among the top 20 CNCF contributors over the past few years, combining open-source stewardship with pragmatic secure-by-design engineering. His background spans Nokia, Huawei and Ericsson roles from low-level OS and build systems to Kubernetes, CI/CD and vulnerability management platforms that still underpin Ericsson’s PSIRT workflows. Tuomo is hands-on in improving build and test infra, dependency pinning and pipeline hardening, and routinely drives security feature work across CNCF and OpenSSF initiatives. Known for a no-nonsense Finnish Sisu, he blends rapid delivery with durable security practices and a knack for turning messy legacy tooling into auditable, automatable systems. Outside work he balances netsec and DevOps interests with photography and disc golf, reflecting a practical, curious mindset.
