Top SchoolTyler Clavelle is a Senior Data Scientist based in Burlington, Vermont with a decade of experience applying data science to fisheries, marine conservation, and coastal resource management. At Global Fishing Watch he progressed from Data Scientist to Senior Data Scientist, translating remote sensing and mobility data into actionable insights for sustainable fisheries and ocean governance. His background blends rigorous environmental science training (M.S. in Coastal Marine Resources Management) with field-tested ecological research—from shark nursery studies to ecosystem service valuation for marine protected areas—giving him uncommon fluency across fieldwork, economics, and analytics. Tyler is skilled at turning complex ecological and socio-economic problems into reproducible data products and policy-relevant evidence, often bridging the gap between academic research and operational conservation practice.
