Top SchoolUlrik Lyngs is a researcher-founder blending computer science and cognitive psychology to reduce digital distraction, co-founding and directing the Reduce Digital Distraction Project while completing a PhD at the University of Oxford. With nine years’ experience in academia and applied research, he designs research-informed interventions that help students and staff regain control over attention in the age of smartphones. He has translated scholarly insight into public impact as Research Representative on Denmark’s Media Council for Children & Youth and previously scaled cultural programming as Head of Music and producer at the Institute of Art and Ideas. Comfortable moving between fieldwork, experimental design and stakeholder-facing programs, he brings a rare mix of rigorous empirical methods and practical implementation. Outside research he channels creative energy into live music—playing in The Karaoke Collective—which underlines his interest in human attention, engagement and community building.
