Valentina Boeva is a computational genomics and epigenetics expert with 11+ years of experience developing high-throughput analysis methods to dissect how somatic genomic alterations reshape the cancer epigenome. As Core Faculty at ETH AI Center and Assistant Professor at ETH Zürich, she leads interdisciplinary teams that combine data integration, machine learning and sequencing technologies to map copy-number changes, structural variants and aberrant transcription in tumors. Her lab produced widely used tools (FREEC, SVDetect/SV-Bay, HMCan, MICSA, ONCOCNV) and a web server (Nebula), reflecting a rare blend of methodological rigor and practical software delivery. Trained in biophysics and applied mathematics (MSU, PhD), she brings deep statistical craftsmanship to biological problems and a track record of impactful academic collaborations across Europe.
