Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolVarada Kari is a storage systems engineer with 18+ years designing and building exabyte-scalable file, object and block storage solutions, with deep expertise in flash/SSD performance, wear leveling and write amplification mitigation. He has driven core storage innovations at NetApp, SanDisk (InfiniFlash), Flipkart and Pensando, contributing to CEPH internals like BlueStore, async compaction, snapshots, replication and lifecycle policies. At Flipkart he led cloud storage architecture that cut resource use by 50% through policy-driven tiering and engineered robust cross-cluster failover, QoS rate limiting and large-scale data migrations. Equally comfortable in low-level filesystem integrity work (WAFL checksums, corruption detection) and high-level distributed system design, he is a core contributor to open-source CEPH and a frequent hands-on problem solver in customer POCs and escalations. Based in Bengaluru, he combines deep research-grade knowledge from an MTech in CS with pragmatic production delivery across large-scale, flash-optimized storage deployments.
