Top SchoolVictor Darkes is a Senior Software Engineer with 11 years of experience designing and delivering cloud-native, full-stack systems for large consumer media platforms. Based in Los Angeles, he has led backend microservices and internal frontends for Movies Anywhere and Disney Movies Insiders, operating at scale for over 10 million users while mentoring and onboarding engineers. His technical breadth spans Kotlin/Java and TypeScript/React, Spring Boot, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and a broad AWS serverless and infra-as-code toolchain (Terraform, SAM, MSK), enabling him to bridge product, infra, and observability concerns. Victor has a background across entertainment giants (Disney, NBCUniversal) and even NASA JPL, showing a pattern of applying rigorous engineering practices across domains from spacecraft workflow apps to media platforms. He’s comfortable setting technical direction on cross-functional initiatives and pairing hands-on implementation with tool-driven reliability (New Relic, Datadog, Splunk). His career path reveals not just system-building skill but a knack for translating complex operational needs into maintainable, monitored services.
