Senior🎓
Top SchoolVictor Wetzel is an electroacoustic composer, sound designer and researcher who blends musical practice with rigorous engineering: he holds advanced degrees in musical acoustics and mechanical engineering and completed a PhD at IRCAM modelling the vocal tract using port-Hamiltonian systems. With nine years of experience, he teaches electroacoustic composition and sound engineering in Parisian conservatoires and develops hybrid works that pair analog tape techniques and custom Usine Hollyhock instruments. His research-driven approach yields modular, energy-consistent physical models used both for scientific simulation and novel musical acoustics applications, including multipoint wireless sound installations. Comfortable at the intersection of fluid mechanics, numerical simulation and creative electronics, he brings a rare combination of hands-on analog craft and state-of-the-art theoretical modelling.
