Top SchoolVinayak Jagtap is a roboticist and Ph.D. candidate in Robotics Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute with over 12 years of engineering experience and 3+ years specializing in walking controllers and motion planning for humanoid robots. He combines deep academic research with practical product work as a Roboticist at Berkshire Grey, translating gait algorithms into deployable robot behaviors. With a background in mechanical engineering and a master’s in robotics, he bridges mechanical design intuition and software systems thinking to tackle complex locomotion challenges. His experience spans low-level control, planner integration, and production-oriented software development accumulated over seven years in software roles. Based in Worcester, MA, he’s equally comfortable iterating on research prototypes and hardening code for real-world automation. Colleagues describe him as a hands-on engineer who leverages rigorous analysis to produce robust, field-ready robotic motion solutions.
