Senior🎓
Top SchoolVincent Alsteen is a seasoned backend software engineer with 14 years of experience, currently modernizing and scaling Delivery Hero’s Austrian backend from legacy Django to a CI-driven, test-covered, API-first architecture. He specializes in Python and Django, has led large refactors to introduce CI/CD, automated testing (growing tests from zero to 1200+), task queues, and Elasticsearch, and routinely tackles database locking and scalability issues. Comfortable in DevOps responsibilities, he has a track record of introducing release management, deployment automation and observability across telecom and e-commerce domains. Outside work he experiments with Rust and Kotlin, reflecting a curiosity for performant systems and modern language tooling beyond his Python core. Based in Berlin, he blends pragmatic modernization with long-term maintainability, often turning decade-old codebases into resilient, API-driven platforms.
