Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolViraj Mehta is a Co-Founder and CTO with a decade of experience bridging cutting-edge robotics research and product-focused ML systems. He earned a Ph.D. from CMU’s Robotics Institute where his work on reinforcement learning, generative models, and dynamical systems was driven by real-world control challenges—most notably plasma control for fusion—and has recently extended those techniques to improve language model alignment. Before founding TensorZero he helped kickstart alternative data and analytics at KKR and automated capital-allocation workflows in private finance, blending academic rigor with high-impact industry applications. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford, with earlier research in 3D vision and robot learning. Based in New York and splitting time across the Bay Area and Tahoe, he’s as comfortable flying airplanes and skiing as he is designing ML systems for expensive, data-scarce scientific problems.
