Vladimir Ostapenco is a DevOps engineer and information systems specialist based in Lyon with eight years of experience building and operating cloud-native, highly available infrastructures for blockchain and research environments. He combines hands-on DevOps (Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) with security and networking expertise (WireGuard, IPsec, OpenVPN) and a proven track record in validator node high-availability for PoS blockchains. His PhD work at Inria focused on energy efficiency and carbon-footprint reduction in large-scale cloud data centers, giving him a unique research-driven perspective on sustainable infrastructure engineering. As a cofounder of LUGUS LABS and early infrastructure lead at iExec, he has delivered production-grade automation, monitoring and deployment tooling across AWS, on-prem and hybrid environments. He also teaches infrastructure and security topics to master’s students, bridging academic rigor with practical, deployable solutions. Colleagues rely on him for pragmatic, repeatable architectures that balance reliability, observability and environmental impact.
