Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolWalter Neto is a Senior Software Engineer based in Cork, Ireland, with a lifelong passion for coding that began at age 12 and over a decade of professional experience building high-performance systems. He specializes in low-level and systems work—kernel hacking on OpenBSD, UFS file systems, serial communication, network protocols, and performance optimization—while also delivering web crawlers, image processing, and scalable backend architectures. Walter has led technical teams and product architecture across fintech and media domains, with hands-on experience in Redis/DynamoDB scaling, background processing, and PCI-related security requirements. As a BSD enthusiast and former CTO, he implemented an unofficial journaling layer for OpenBSD and has taught BSD and security topics publicly, blending deep systems expertise with practical delivery. Comfortable across C, Perl, C#.NET and cloud environments like AWS, he brings both low-level craftsmanship and pragmatic engineering leadership to hard reliability and throughput problems. Notably, his career mixes kernel-level contributions with production web crawlers and automation tools that break complex CAPTCHAs for large-scale data workflows.
