Senior🎓
Top SchoolWalter Shub is a Senior Software Engineer with nine years of experience building full-stack web and mobile applications, currently contributing to NewtekOne after leading engineering at Cox Automotive and product teams at Howl and TRED. He specializes in JavaScript ecosystems—Node, React/Redux, and React Native—and has a track record of leading rewrites, improving code quality, and hiring strong teams to increase velocity and reduce costs. Walter pairs hands-on engineering with technical leadership, having managed Git workflows, native bridges, analytics integrations, and complex third‑party integrations like Branch IO and card‑linked offers. Based in Spring Valley, NY, he favors pragmatic technology choices over comfort-zone solutions and brings an experimental, curiosity-driven approach to architecture and feature delivery. An uncommon strength is his ability to move between product-facing mobile work and backend optimization, making him effective at both prototype-driven innovation and production-grade stability.
