His academic work at UC Irvine blends machine learning and computer vision—implementing a YOLOv2-derived loss for hair detection—and full-stack projects that shipped React Native and Angular interfaces for real users. Wei combines strong Java, Python, and TypeScript skills with experience in deep learning, data engineering, and mobile development, and he consistently focuses on making complex systems usable for non-technical stakeholders. He graduated with a 3.86 GPA in Computer Science and has a track record of translating research prototypes into production-ready tooling.
