Wesley Ingwersen is a research engineer and industrial ecologist with 11+ years applying life cycle assessment (LCA) to make goods and services more sustainable, most recently serving as EPA lead for the Federal LCA Commons and co-developer of widely adopted product category rule guidance. He designs open-source LCA tools and standard operating procedures, founding and leading the USEEIO modeling effort and contributing to seminal methods like EPA’s LCA DQA. Wesley combines deep academic training (Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Sciences) with practical policy impact—helping federal agencies surface and publish high-quality life cycle data for public use. He has a track record of translating complex environmental modeling into usable tools and standards used by EPD programs, and an often-overlooked strength is his experience bridging international practice and local implementation from Costa Rica to EU policy work. Now based in Atlanta, he continues to advance industrial ecology through tool development, interagency collaboration, and open data.
