Top SchoolWill Cooke is a seasoned engineering leader with 12+ years driving platform, infrastructure, and OS engineering at scale, most recently as Senior Manager at Chainguard after five years as Director of Engineering at InfluxData. He has led globally distributed teams to deliver cloud-native, high-throughput data platforms (InfluxDB Cloud, IOx) across multi-cloud regions and modernised operational practices for enterprise-grade reliability. Previously he ran Ubuntu Desktop product strategy at Canonical, blending product ownership, OEM partnerships and public-facing advocacy to ship Linux to millions of users. Will combines deep systems and infrastructure expertise—from kernel/OS-level product delivery to big-data storage engines using Arrow and Parquet—with a pragmatic focus on hiring, remote collaboration and sustainable engineering practices. A longtime practitioner of remote leadership and platform thinking, he often bridges technical strategy and commercial priorities while staying hands-on in architecture decisions.
