Top SchoolWill Mruzek is an independent software engineer and consultant with over a decade of experience building user-facing web products for startups and established companies like Credit Karma, Reforge, Humble Bundle, and Duo Security. He specializes in React, TypeScript, Next.js, Node, GraphQL, and practical state management (XState), and has led migrations, greenfield launches, and design-system work that improve developer and user experience. Will prioritizes type-safety, functional programming ideas, and avoiding unnecessary complexity to produce predictable, maintainable systems. He’s helped ship Credit Karma’s first subscription product and driven client-wide choices (e.g., adopting URQL for smaller bundle size), showing a blend of hands-on coding and platform-level decision-making. Outside engineering, he composes and performs music and theater, a creative practice that informs his product-focused empathy and attention to craft.
