Top SchoolWill Y is a macOS platform lead and systems-level software engineer with 11 years of experience building low-level security and performance-critical software. He combines deep expertise in Swift, Objective-C, C/C++, and XNU kernel work with hands-on experience across EndpointSecurity, NetworkExtension, system extensions, and drivers for macOS, Windows, and Linux. As a former Principal/Staff engineer and team lead at Elastic, Cylance, and SentinelOne, he has led platform efforts, built cross-platform SDKs and test frameworks, and triaged complex customer issues. Now leading macOS platform work at a stealth startup in Portland, he blends management experience with continued individual technical contribution. Colleagues know him as a “dabbler in the dark arts,” reflecting a curiosity for reverse engineering, obfuscation techniques, and creative low-level tooling that inform pragmatic security engineering.
