Top SchoolWilliam Chan is a seasoned software engineer and leader with 16 years of experience and over a decade in technical management and mentoring across product, data, and infrastructure domains. Currently at Superhuman after leading engineering teams at MongoDB and Roblox, he combines hands-on full-stack development with people management to deliver scalable systems. He has a track record of moving between startups and large enterprises—shaping platform and platform-adjacent products at companies like Oscar Health, ShopKeep, and FreeWheel—while also coaching and advising engineering teams. Based in New York, he pairs an applied mathematics background with a practical focus on reliability and developer productivity, and he often mentors emerging engineers through Formation and coaching engagements.
