Top SchoolWilliam Perkins is a Staff Software Engineer based in Berlin with 15 years of experience building products, teams, and high-scale systems across startups and established companies. Currently at Reddit, he brings a blend of hands-on engineering and product-minded architecture honed through freelance consulting and a long partnership at Laan Labs focused on computer vision, ML, and AR. His background spans server infrastructure, desktop clients, and embedded research—early work on data compression for wireless sensor networks reflects a strong foundation in algorithms and systems. He has moved fluidly between building shipping products (cloud-managed printing, AR apps) and shaping platform-level architecture, making him equally comfortable mentoring teams and diving into code. Known for entrepreneurial drive, he often bridges research ideas into practical, production-ready features.
