Top SchoolWilliam Topping is a part-time CTO and seasoned electrical engineer with a decade of hands-on experience building secure embedded systems, custom hardware, and IoT platforms from prototype to revenue. He has led technical turnarounds and startups—covering PCB design, firmware, RTOS migrations (Zephyr), and secure low-bandwidth messaging—while also owning cybersecurity and certification work. Equally at home teaching and mentoring, he enjoys making complex ideas click for others and has delivered presentations ranging from science shows to startup briefings. Based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, he focuses on pragmatic entrepreneurship outside the Valley and is currently researching techniques to balance responsiveness, battery life, and security in constrained embedded devices.
