Top SchoolWillie Koomson is a Senior Software Engineer in New York with 11 years of experience building low-level systems and consumer-facing mobile frameworks. At Google he has driven Android widget and framework innovations—leading the Glance Jetpack library from alpha to stable, adding dynamic preview APIs and layout persistence, and designing cross-form-factor widget and metrics frameworks. He pairs systems-level expertise (kernel, VM, performance, C/C++, Go) with declarative UI design for Android, shipping features used across Pixel, Wear OS, and third-party OEM launchers. His work on ARC reduced VM boot times and energy use, and he has deep experience optimizing input latency and CPU scheduling for complex multi-process environments. Beyond coding, he collaborates with UX teams, mentors early-career engineers, and partners with OEMs to bring platform features to market. Columba-educated and detail-oriented, he combines a passion for operating systems with a knack for turning platform research into broadly adopted product features.
