Summary
👤
SeniorWinny De Jong is an experienced data journalist and editor-in-chief of the Data Desk at NRC, bringing 11 years of storytelling expertise that uncovers newsworthy insights hidden in datasets. Based in Bussum, she combines rigorous investigative instincts with a strong commitment to data literacy and public-facing explanations of complex information. She founded Winny Media and serves on advisory and preparatory committees for the Nationaal Archief and the European Press Prize, bridging journalism, cultural stewardship, and editorial governance. Curious about the internet as an informal education, she treats the web as her university and leverages that self-directed learning to innovate newsroom practices. Though once drawn to radio, she applies that listening sensibility to detecting narratives in numbers and amplifying them for diverse audiences.
